These white, velvety isopods even have white eyes! They are fairly small, but they are fast-moving and prolific. These are one of the best possible isopods for arid bioactive setups, but they will need damp areas where they can rest and hydrate whenever needed. I have kept this species with my leopard gecko very successfully for years. It can tolerate low ventilation, but seems to do better with more ventilation. It is a great choice for a beginner. It likes some protein it its diet.
